Bodywork, Mindful Movement & Massage Therapy

In these sessions I combine my technical training of Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release with adjunctive therapies like Thai Massage, Ashiatsu, Maya Abdominal Therapy and traditional massage techniques like Relaxation & Deep tissue work.

Myofascial Release (MFR)

By applying gentle sustained pressure directly to the skin (without the use of oils or creams) into the connective tissue to reduce restrictions, eliminate pain and restore range motion. This is a very relaxing technique that de-kinks the body.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

This technique is used to deactivate trigger points in the muscle, tendons & ligaments. It can help to lengthen chronically shortened muscles & work to balance muscle groups. Find true alignment and relief with NMT.

Ashiatsu

In Japanese 'Ashi' meaning foot & 'Atsu' meaning pressure. Therapist uses parallel bars on the ceiling to hold most of their weight and uses long strokes, the effect of this modality is deeper pressure and sense of relaxation.

Table Thai Massage

An adaptation of traditional Thai massage that is woven into and integrative bodywork session.

Traditional Thai Massage (Nuad-Bo-Rarn)

Sometimes refereed to Lazy Mans Yoga. Traditional Thai massage is an ancient healing system that combines broad and targeted acupressure, stimulation and manipulation of energy lines called sen, and assisted yoga postures. Traditional Thai massage rarely uses oils or lotions, and the recipient remains clothed during a treatment.

Shiatsu

In Japanese, shiatsu means "finger pressure." For shiatsu massage, the therapist uses varied, rhythmic pressure on certain precise points of the body. These points are called acupressure points, and they are believed to be important for the flow of the body's vital energy, called chi. Proponents say shiatsu massage can help relieve blockages at these acupressure points.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a technique that focuses on specific pressure points within your feet and hands to help correct energy flows throughout your body. By stimulating the peripheral nervous system, or the nerve endings in these areas, great relaxation occurs throughout the body. A foot bath and aromatherapy are included in these sessions, clients are comfortably propped up in a reclined position on the table during the session.

Airepella Bodywork

By applying gentle sustained pressure, using silks and a bar system to make use of our feet, directly to the skin into the connective tissue to reduce restrictions, reduce pain patterns and restore range motion.

Headache & Migraine Release

Specific pressure and massage techniques are applied to the Trapezius, Spelnius, Scalenes, Sternocleidomastoid, Semispinalis, Temporalis & Suboccipital muscles to relieve pain and other symptoms you may experience as a result of headaches. Use of specific essential oils are applied to the client and diffused in the room during this treatment.

Intra-Oral Massage TMJ Release

Work done on the head & neck to help release tension from jaw clenching and clinical TMJ diagnosis. The therapist uses a glove to massage muscles inside of mouth to relieve pain and tension. Muscles Targeted include the Pterygoids, Suprahyoid, & Masseter. This treatment is highly effective, bringing noticeable ease to the jaw and neck.

Prenatal Massage

This is a full body relaxation massage session for the expecting mother, working to ease the many discomforts of pregnancy throughout the entire journey. Massage Therapy is safe and beneficial to receive throughout pregnancy. It is typically advised that the Mother be at least 14 weeks pregnant to receive, NOT because massage therapy is ill advised but due to the fact that miscarriage is more likely in the 7-12 week window.

Integrative Pregnancy Massage

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy as taught by Dr. Rosita Arvigo DN, supports the physical changes experienced by women during pregnancy. As the baby and uterus grow additional pelvic strain is put on the uterine and pelvic ligaments and pelvic floor muscles. With regular massage to the pregnant belly and lower back the uterus stays well positioned, receives optimal blood supply and grows strong and resilient. Arvigo Therapy normalizes pelvic alignment & allows for optimal positioning of the uterus & baby.
