Arvigo® Therapy

What is it?

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® as taught by Dr. Rosita Arvigo, DN, are the legacy of an unbroken chain of knowledge handed down from generation to generation of midwives and traditional healers in Central America. This therapy is founded on an ancient Maya technique of Abdominal Massage.

This work is external, gentle and non-invasive soft tissue manipulation to the abdomen and lower back that re-positions internal organs (like the Uterus) that have shifted, This work aids in the proper flow of Blood, Lymph, Energy, and Nerves to the entire body.

Proper Uterine Placement

Arvigo® Therapy supports the physical changes experienced by women throughout life. An Ideal & healthy uterus leans slightly over the bladder in the center of the pelvis about one and a half inches above the pubic bone. It is held in this position by muscles, the vaginal wall & ligaments that attach to the pelvis & lower spine.

Uterine Ligaments are made to stretch with the monthly cycle and during child bearing. These ligaments and muscles can weaken and cause the uterus to fall downward, forward, backward or tilt to either side.

A Uterus in any of these positions is referred to as Tilted or Prolapsed. Modern medicine has little or nothing to offer women with this issue. - Options may include Birth Control, Muscle Relaxants or Surgery... women are generally told "you uterus is tipped but that it is "normal" and not to worry about it.

However this experience often is accompanied by Painful Menstruation, Lower Back Pain, Challenged Fertility, Compromised Circulation, Issues with elimination and the urinary system; A whole laundry list of physical & emotional symptoms.

These can be addressed and prevented with the simple, non-invasive massage techniques. When the organs of the digestive and reproductive system shift they can constrict normal flow of blood and lymph, and disrupt nerve connections. Just a few extra ounces of organ tissue sitting on the blood & lymph supply can reek havoc throughout the entire body.

By guiding the organs back into place Homeostasis, or the natural balance of the body is restored. With proper circulation and balance in the belly and pelvis, toxins are flushed from the system, nutrients that help to tone the tissue and balance hormones are restored to ideal order and proper function.

Adhesions & Scar tissue from invasive treatments to the pelvis and abdomen area including fibroid tumors, endometriosis, cesarean delivery and any abdominal surgery are diminished when addressed by these techniques.

Digestive Support

Arvigo® Therapy is best known for addressing misalignment or congestion in the reproductive organs of both men and women, as well as many common digestive disorders.

The techniques effectively alleviate tissue congestion and organ constriction to improve the vital flows of energy, blood, lymph and nerves in the abdomen.

They address and can release emotional and energetic tension from the abdomen. This assists to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology while improving the body’s ability to self repair & balance. Extensive work on the diaphragm allows for deeper breathing and greater blood supply to the entire body.
